Recipe
1 cup shelled pili nuts
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
pinch of salt
- Toast peeled pili nuts until light brown. Grind.
- Put sugar and water in a saucepan and cook into a thick syrup.
- Add the ground pili nuts, vanilla and salt and continue cooking until a little amount hardens when dropped in a cup of water.
- Remove from heat and flatten into a thin sheet on a slightly greased cookie pan.
- Cut while warm into desired shapes. Wrap individually in waxed paper.
Peanuts, coconut, cashew, jackfruit or corn may also be used.
